Builders are the architects of organizations. They combine high responsibility and energy with a strong need for structure, making them exceptionally skilled at creating processes, systems, and frameworks that others can follow. They don't just do the work; they build the infrastructure that makes the work sustainable. Builders are patient with complexity as long as they can see a path to bringing order to it.
At Their Best
A Builder walks into chaos and leaves behind a system that runs without them. They spot the repeatable pattern under the one-off scramble, the same fire that keeps starting in the same corner, and instead of putting it out again they build the thing that keeps it from catching. Where a Builder has been, the work is simply more reliable, and it stays that way after they move on. Their gift is not heroics; it is that the heroics stop being necessary.

Under strain, the Builder's love of order tips into rigidity. They can defend a process long past the point where it still serves the goal, until the system stops being a tool for the work and quietly becomes the thing the work has to serve. Change starts to feel like a personal threat, because letting go of a structure they built feels like undoing real work even when the ground underneath it has shifted.
