Catalysts are high-energy activators who combine boundless stamina with strong communication skills and a willingness to take risks. They don't just do things; they inspire others to do things. Catalysts are the spark that gets projects moving, the voice that rallies a demoralized team, and the force of nature that turns "we should do this" into "we're doing this now."
At Their Best
Catalysts turn a standing start into visible motion faster than anyone thought the group had in it. They rally people around a goal, name the first step out loud, and take it before the doubt has time to settle in. When morale is low and everyone is waiting for permission to care again, the Catalyst supplies it, and a demoralized team finds its second wind. Their energy is contagious by design: the room's temperature lifts, and people do more than they planned to because the work feels alive again.
Under Pressure
Under load, the Catalyst burns hot and scatters. The drive that starts things starts too many of them, launches pile up while follow-through falls behind, and enthusiasm outruns planning until motion gets mistaken for progress. There is a human cost too: the energy that inspires can also exhaust, and while running hot they can steamroll the quieter colleagues they most need, mistaking reticence for a lack of buy-in when it is really just a different pace. The party is thrilling while it lasts, but someone always has to clean up after it.
What Drives Them
Momentum is its own reward for a Catalyst. They want to see things move, and a fast, visible win lights them up in a way a slow, perfect one never quite does; stagnation is their least favorite state of being. What they are really chasing is the feeling of a thing coming alive because they touched it. They measure themselves in motion created, not just work completed.

Pacing is the edge a Catalyst least suspects, because energy has never once felt like a finite resource to them. But they are the generator other people plug into, and when they run flat out until the crash, the room's momentum goes down with them; recovery has to be built into the schedule as deliberately as the launches. Their throttle affects others too, since the quieter colleagues they read as slow are often still carrying the last three launches. The measure of their energy is not how hot it burns but how many people are still standing beside them when the work is done.
